Wind Blamed for Truck Accident
Anyone living in California knows that the weather has been wicked lately. That weather has brought excessive rain and high winds to sections of the state and wreaked havoc on traffic. One more accident has been reported, and the weather has again been blamed.
According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer jackknifed and blocked multiple lanes of traffic. The incident occurred just after 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon. A driver of a FedEx truck had left Rialto and was heading to Victorville. The driver reported that a strong gust of wind hit the truck and pushed it. The force of the wind caused the truck to topple to its side.
There were several other drivers on the road at the time, some of whom stopped to come to the aid of the truck driver. The man was assisted out of the cab of his truck and was able to move to safety. Although no one was injured in the accident, traffic was backed up for miles as the truck was cleared from the roadway. According to Twitter, the traffic in Cajon Pass was still slow-moving four hours after the accident.
It is fortunate that no one was injured in this accident, but that is not always the case.
