Suspected drunken driver arrested in fatal 7-car Tarzana crash
Nobody would ever want to think that a car accident can happen to them. Most people will just find themselves involved in a crash without really expecting the incident to occur. And if they are lucky enough to survive, they will probably say that they felt the wreck in slow motion or in the blink of an eye.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, every 10 seconds of every day someone in the US get involved in a car accident. Whatever the cause, just one thing is for certain — people who were involved will acquire injuries — either physical, mental, financial, and sometimes all three. The worst scenario could be the death of a loved one; just like what happened recently on Ventura Boulevard at Vanalden Avenue in Tarzana, where a woman was killed late Monday night when her car was struck by an alleged drunken driver.
As stated by Officer Olga Arriaga of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division, the suspect had been driving eastbound on Ventura when he struck the rearmost of six vehicles stopped at a red light at the intersection with Vanalden Avenue around 11:05 p.m. The incident took the life of a woman who’s in her 60s. On the other hand, the suspected drunk driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the accident and was transported to a hospital. Neither the suspect’s identity nor the extent of his injuries was immediately released.
If you are a victim of a similar incident, you might be entitled to compensation for your loved one’s death or injuries. This can be in the form of financial damages for losses such as pain and suffering, lost wages, medical bills, or burial.
