Chain Reaction Crash Involves Limousine
A chain reaction crash involving three vehicles, one of them a limousine, has left h 12 people injured, with five of those injured being listed in critical condition.
Authorities with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department say that the crash was reported at approximately 8:15 on Newhall Ranch Road (State Route 126), just east of the Golden State (5) Freeway.
Reports indicate that the limousine driver had attempted to stop at a red light, but instead struck another vehicle. The collision caused the limousine to spin and crash into another vehicle.
12 people were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The limousine driver was uninjured in the accident.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department indicates that the cause of the crash is still currently under investigation.
Limousines are often rented for life events such as graduations and weddings. Some stretch limousines can be very long and can cause an increased risk of getting into an accident just because of their size.
