Alleged Attempted Murder Due to Cigarettes
Police have arrested a man after he allegedly repeatedly attacked and stabbed a man with a pocket knife because the victim refused to give him a cigarette.
According to authorities, law enforcement officers discovered the victim in the stabbing waling on 6th Street, near Bonnie Street, at approximately 8:30 a.m. in San Bernardino on Sunday.
The victim, whose name has not been released by authorities, had been allegedly stabbed by Raul Martinez 22, of San Bernardino. Martinez is allegedly also known as a gang member.
The stabbing victim had suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local area hospital emergency room for treatment.
Deputy D. Jessup’s uncovered video showing Martinez and the victim just prior to the attack. Martinez had been seen getting out of a black two-door Honda Civic. The vehicle was later located at an apartment complex in the 25500 block of 5th St in San Bernardino.
Police found Martinez inside the residence and he was arrested. A knife and DNA evidence linking Martinez to the stabbing was also found at the home.
Martinez was booked into the Central Detention Center and is currently being held without bail.
