Fatal Crash Involving Former Olympian Bruce Jenner Investigated
Investigators have determined that the fatal chain-reaction crash that involved former Olympian, Bruce Jenner, was not caused by paparazzi. Because Jenner is often pursued by celebrity photographers, and the moment of impact of the accident had been captured and released to the media, there was speculation that Jenner had been attempting to evade them. Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Philip Brooks, however, said in a statement that there was no indication of this.
The accident happened on Saturday when Jenner was heading northbound on the Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu. Jenner’s black Cadillac Escalade struck the rear end of a Lexus sedan that had just rear-ended a black Toyota Prius that had been stopped at an intersection for an unknown reason. The chain-reaction crash caused the Lexus to veer into the path of a black Hummer. The accident caused the death of a 69-year-old Calabasas woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Jenner has been fully cooperating with investigators. He was issued and passed a field sobriety test and voluntarily submitted a blood sample in order to determine if he had been intoxicated at the time of the accident. Jenner has also signed over his cellphone records in order to prove that he had not been texting at the time of the crash.
