Boy on Upper Level of Double Decker Bus Injured After Striking Overpass
Any job carries a certain amount of responsibility. A chef or owner of a restaurant should make sure any food served is fresh. A teacher should educate and do his or her best to see the child is educated in a safe environment. Likewise, those who transport us places, be they taxi drivers, bus drivers, or plane pilots have a responsibility to see their passengers to their destinations safely.
A boy riding on the top of a double-decker bus was seriously injured when he was struck by a concrete overpass on the 405 Freeway.
The bus was carrying both minors and chaperones under the Arbor Vitae Street overpass in Inglewood a bit before 8 in the evening when the boy suffered a major head injury, according to a California Highway Patrol sergeant.
The boy was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Harbor City and listed in critical condition.
CHP would only verify that the victim was less than 18 years old and lives in Manhattan Beach.
Investigators are still not certain if anyone on the upper level of the bus was standing.
At the time of the accident, the bus was being chartered for a private party that included people under 18 years of age. The bus company assured authorities they never serve alcohol on their buses.
