210 People Arrested for DUI Over the Holiday Season
When people drive under the influence of alcohol, it can be fatal. This is one of the many reasons why law enforcement comes out in force during the holiday season. There is always a great push to get people off of the roads and keep them away from their keys when they have been drinking during the holiday season, when people are more prone to drink.
In San Bernardino, around 210 people were arrested between December 13th and December 31, which is a bit more than the average. There were 25 separate agencies that united to prevent drunk driving accidents by setting up checkpoints.
Drinking and driving is something not to be trifled with. If you’re drinking and driving, it’s more of a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ it will happen to you. Give your keys to a non-drinking friend if you have been drinking. Let them know that you care about yourself and the other people on the road. The more people think responsibly, the more lives that will be saved.
You could also sleep it off, as there is no better cure for being drunk than time. You can also call a cab to get home. Many cab companies offer free transport services during this time of the year to ensure everyone gets home safely.
